The independent integration and debugging work has achieved a phased victory

The first product has been successfully tested and officially launched!

Production line renovation, lightweight components embark on a new journey

Since the first ultra-high strength steel pipe hot expansion molding production line was put into operation in China in 2020, Wuling Industrial Vehicle Division has comprehensively transformed its business towards lightweight, continuously achieving market breakthroughs in multiple customers and products, and expanding the application scenarios of more pipe and beam products according to automotive safety standards. With the continuous increase in business volume, the existing production capacity is no longer able to meet the growing demand. To meet customer needs, the Vehicle Division has renovated the hydraulic line of the stamping C-line in the Hexi stamping and welding workshop, and constructed a second high-pressure thermal expansion production line. After 8 months of research and planning, as well as independent integration and debugging, the project team finally achieved the first successful trial production of the production line.

The hot expansion products produced on this production line meet the requirements of offset collision safety performance, with high strength and good precision. Compared with traditional stamping processes, the weight can be significantly reduced. At present, the Vehicle Division has mass-produced dozens of thermal expansion products.

Facing difficulties and independently breaking through core challenges

       In the early stages of the production line construction, the team encountered core challenges such as improving the efficiency of the heating system automation transfer system, integrating high-pressure systems and equipment, renovating and upgrading the power and hydraulic systems, and upgrading their performance. Faced with the lack of mature solutions both domestically and internationally, the team faced the challenge and independently learned and developed heating equipment and system intelligent control, pioneering the problem of uneven heating and successfully improving heating and transportation efficiency, ensuring the safe, stable, and efficient integration of high-voltage systems. In determining the high-pressure nitrogen system solution, the team actively collaborated with various departments and conducted multiple rounds of negotiations with suppliers, ultimately locking in a suitable solution and overcoming the difficulty of long delivery times for imported parts of the booster pump, ensuring the smooth progress of the production line installation and construction application work.

Debugging and verification, production line from initial prototype to stable operation

       As the team breaks through one technical bottleneck after another, the production line takes shape, but to achieve stable operation of the production line, it still needs to go through repeated debugging and verification. During the debugging process, the team encountered issues such as sensor calibration, heating system pipeline leakage, and hot forming leakage. However, they never gave up and repeatedly optimized the program, ultimately achieving smooth operation of the production line and successful trial production of the first sample.
